Next to one of the best bays in the world for its dimensions, safety and depth, Cienfuegos, an architectural jewel, full of French influence, and having important heritage buildings, offers a well preserved historical center, which was declared World Heritage by UNESCO. There, buildings with different styles and a urban layout stand out, giving Cienfuegos the name of the Pearl of the South.

The fact of being a sea city makes many sea related activities available. The Rancho Luna beach is a privileged place for long days full of sun and sea and its warm waters and splendid hotel infrastructure and varied offer of services.

Cienfuegos province is located in the south-central region of Cuba with coasts on the Caribbean Sea. The Jaime González International Airport provides air access to the province. One can visit the whole territory using a road communicating all important places. The Marina Cienfuegos provides the sea entrance to the province for vessels.

The people of Cienfuegos love music. Every April 22nd the festivities for the foundation of the city under the name of Villa de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles de Jagua are celebrated. One of the main cultural events is held on September for the Benny Moré International Festival, honoring one of the most important Cuban musicians born in Santa Isabel de las Lajas, one of the province's municipalities.

Visiting Cienfuegos is also starting an adventure through time. From there it is possible the access to areas of great natural values. Next to the city, the Escambray Sierra awaits you with unforgettable views of waterfalls, like that of El Nicho, where colors and different aromas combine.
